"While the Sun Was Rising", (24" x 36" cradled panel), 2015

$650.00

This piece was inspired by a photograph of a storm which erupted while I was outside during an early morning sunrise.  The photo is the underlayment beneath multiple layers of wax, powdered pigment, and encaustic medium, and reflects the intensity and balance of the powerful things that can happen simultaneously in our lives, often offering balance, one from the other.

This piece was juried into the Kentucky Arts Council exhibit, "Visions at the Capital", in which 50 KAC artists who have been supported by this council in the past 50 years invited 50 new artists to exhibit with them.  Chosen work was displayed at the capital building in Frankfort, KY,  for the spring legislative session, running from January 2016- April, 2016.
